LISTING CRITERIA - CATEGORISATION BY SPECIALISATIONS
The following represent criteria, set jointly by Department of Environment and AECCOM, for the listing of companies and institutions in the categories they specialised in.
COMMON CRITERIA applicable to all categories
- The minimum paid-up capital shall be RM25,000.00.
- Applicants shall posses a good record of fulfilling their contractual obligations. The applicant or their personnel shall not have been convicted for any offence under the Environment Regulation Act or Local Government Act or breached their contractual obligations without good reason.
CRITERIA for CONSULTANT
- Applicants shall furnish a list of projects completed and approved by
Jabatan Alam Sekitar or other relevant agencies. Details of the projects
such as description, capacity, owner, consulting engineer, year completed,
name and address shall be included.
Successful installation and completion of projects shall be necessary conditions for approval.
- A minimum of three years' experience and at least three approved projects by Jabatan Alam Sekitar or the relevant agencies for each category applied for.
- Key personnel must have professional qualifications relevant to the field applied for.
- In the case of Consultants in the Wastewater, Sewage and Air Pollution categories, the applicant must have a full time employee or Director with "Professional Engineer" (PE) qualifications from the Board of Engineers, Malaysia.
- For EIA Consultants, the applicant must be registered with Jabatan Alam Sekitar.
CRITERIA for CONTRACTORS
- Applicants shall furnish a list of projects completed and approved by
Jabatan Alam Sekitar or other relevant agencies, providing for each project,
details such as description, capacity, owner, consulting engineer, year
completed, name and address.
Successful installation and completion of projects shall be necessary conditions for approval.
- Key personnel must posses:-
(a) i) Professional qualifications in the field concerned and be recognised by relevant approved professional body.
OR ii) Five years' experience as a Contractor in environment engineering.
AND
(b) Have successfully completed at least five approved projects by Jabatan Alam Sekitar.
- For Sewage Contractors, applicants shall be registered with Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan (KPKT) and be licensed accordingly.
CRITERIA for EQUIPMENT SUPPLIERS
- Applicants shall submit evidence of their capabilities as a suppliers of equipment in the respective environmental activities by way of agency representation letters or other acceptable documents.
- Applicants shall furnish evidence that they are capable of providing adequate after-sales service for the equipment concerned.
CRITERIA for LABORATORY AND TESTING SERVICES
- Applicants shall have their own in-house laboratories with the appropriate SIRIM accreditation.
- For non-SIRIM accredited tests, applicants shall have adequate in-house laboratory testing facilities.
CRITERIA for ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING
- Applicants shall have a minimum of two years' professional experience in Environmental Monitoring.
- Key personnel must posses professional qualifications or be officially certified as competent in the field concerned.
CRITERIA for RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Applicants shall be an institution, fully equipped and organised for research and development in the relevant environmental activity concerned.
